Pictured is Ramallah at the beginning of the 20th century, when it was primarily a village with the homes of the original families of Ramallah. Many of the structures are still intact and inhabited. As the city grew, much of the surrounding land was built on. It is now known as “Ramallah al Tahta” — the old town of Ramallah.
